EIA 506 - Applied Aesthetics in the Arts
Curriculum & Instruction

1st Session Jan. 5th:
Intro to course
What is art? Aesthetics?
What is the role of art/aesthetics?
some examples from Tom Lehrer
lessons from "Crown Heights"

We'll look at the aesthetic, ethical, philosophical aspects of assorted arts disciplines & how they can be applied to curriculum design & instruction. And, most importantly, how the arts can help our students, ourselves, and society.
